Weekend Quilting – Quilt and Unwind with Simple Designs to Sew in No Time herausgegeben von Fons & Porter beinhaltet 16 wunderbare Quilt-Designs, die man ohne Probleme an einem Wochenende fertigbekommt.
My dear friend Jemima Flendt of Tied with a Ribbon wrote her first book and I’m thrilled to be part of the Book Tour! Welcome to my stop, I’m glad you’re here! Weekend Quilting – Quilt and Unwind with Simple Designs to Sew in No Time, published by Fons & Porter contains 16 wonderful designs that can be made in just a weekend. I love the way the book is structured: it contains 8 chapters with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to piece basic blocks, such as Half Square Triangles, Flying Geese and Pinwheels and coveres techniques such as English Paper Piecing, Foundation Paper Piecing and Appliqué. Each two projects per chapter include Lap and Mini Quilts, Table Runners and Pillows and are perfect for quilters of all skill levels. I chose to make the Sparkles Mini Quilt as I love this pattern and haven’t paper pieced in a very long time – and it is the perfect project for my new fabric line Arbor Blossom that just hit the stores, don’t you think? I can’t tell you enough how happy I am about the low volume prints in this line… I resized the mini quilt and turned it into a cushion and I just love how beautiful it turned out! There are so many awesome projects in this book and I will definitely make another one. The Hearts on Fire Quilt espeacially appeals to me and is on my to do list for summer!
