The cross stitch prints by Atsuko Matsuyama are probably my most favorite low volumes of all times – I LOVE these prints and will very likely want to use them in all my future quilts… Luckyly I bought a yard of each print when it was still available. Today of course I regret not having bought 5 yards or even more…

Want to make your own picnic quilt?
The gingham pattern is a super fun quilt design where you can show off the prettiest prints from your stash! To make these scrappy blocks, you can either use Layer Cake squares, Jelly Roll strips or easily cut the needed strips from yardage. The blocks seam elaborate but are actually very quick and easy to sew (click here), thanks to the strip piecing method. The quilt measures 64 ½“ x 80 ½“ which is enough room to seat 4 people with the food in the middle.

Und hier sind meine orangefarbenen Let’s Have a Picnic Quilt Blöcke! Schau mir in diesem Reel dabei zu, wie ich sie zusammennähe (hier klicken). Die Kreuzstich-Stoffe von Atsuko Matsuyama sind meine absoluten Lieblings-Low Volume Stoffe – I LIEBE diese beiden Muster und weiß schon, dass ich sie wahrscheinlich in allen meinen zukünftigen Quilts verwenden will…. Zum Glück habe ich jeweils einen Yard gekauft, als sie noch zu haben waren. Heute bereue ich natürlich, damals nicht fünf 5 Yards daraus gemacht zu haben…!

Willst du auch einen Picknick Quilt nähen?
Das Karomuster ist ein großartiges Design, bei dem du deine schönsten Stoffe verarbeiten kannst! Um die scrappy Blöcke zu nähen, kannst du mit Layer Cake Quadraten, Jelly Roll Streifen oder einfach Stoffen aus deinem Bestand arbeiten. Die Blöcke wirken aufwendig, sind aber dank der Strip Piecing Methode (Streifen nähen) ganz schnell und einfach zu nähen! Mit 64 ½“ x 80 ½“ bietet der Quilt locker Platz für vier Personen inclusive Gedeck in der Mitte.
